Beat the
closing line.

One of the clearest signs of a real edge is beating the price the market settles on. Our AI finds the market’s mistakes; we grade every pick against the close — in public.

Betting is noisy.
Markets aren’t.

Winning ten bets proves almost nothing — only beating the market thousands of times separates edge from luck. We’re not claiming we’ve done it yet. We’re claiming we measure it in the open — day by day, every pick on record.

The problem

Everyone sells units. Nobody shows the close.

A tipster posts a green month and calls it skill. But short-term profit is often variance — it doesn’t prove the edge is real. The stronger test is whether you consistently beat the closing price. Almost no one publishes it, because almost no one can.

The tipster playbook

Proof by screenshot

Cherry-picked wins, hidden losers, odds that were never really available, and a “thousands of backtests” badge with no data behind it. When the variance turns, the account goes quiet.

The Beatclose way

Proof by the close

Every pick logged at the best publicly available odds at the time, then measured against where the market settled. Calibration, hit rate, confidence intervals, and CLV — all in the open, updated whether we’re up or down.

The method

Four steps, one honest number.

The same pipeline behind every pick, whatever the sport.

AI reads the match

A calibrated model grades each market pre-match — probabilities that must sum to 100%, not vibes.

Value vs real price

Edge is the model’s probability minus the market’s — with the bookmaker margin stripped out first.

Logged at the best price

We record the best publicly available odds at the time, timestamped — no rewriting history after the result.

Judged at the close

The pick is scored against the closing line. Beating it, over time, is the edge — everything else is noise.

Why the closing line
Positive units can be luck. Beating the close is harder to fake.

The close is the sharpest price. By kickoff the market has absorbed every injury, lineup and steam move. Consistently getting a better number than that is the signature of a real edge.

It works on a small sample. ROI needs hundreds of bets to mean anything; CLV shows its hand far sooner — so we know if the model is good long before the bankroll does.

It’s hard to fake. Closing prices are public record. Either you beat them or you didn’t — there’s nowhere to hide poor performance.

We hold ourselves to it. If Beatclose stops beating the close, you’ll see it on the same page as everything else. That’s the deal.
